Ride On To Launch “Ride On Real Time”

On Wednesday, Montgomery County Executive Isiah Leggett will announce the launch of “Ride On Real Time,” a system that will allow passengers to obtain real-time information on bus arrivals using the Internet, texting, a smart phone or mobile apps for iPhones and Android phones. 

The new tools will help passengers determine when the next arriving bus will be at their stop.

New Montgomery County Park & Ride to Serve Intercounty Connector Commuter Bus Customers

The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) InterCounty Connector (ICC) Commuter Bus passengers will soon have access to a new Park & Ride in Montgomery County. The new lot is located just west of Georgia Avenue (MD 97) and just south of the ICC in Silver Spring. It opens February 20, 2012 with limited ICC Commuter Bus service. Full service will begin February 21, 2012 after the President’s Day holiday. The new lot will 

 

include 202 parking spaces and two bus shelters with benches located immediately adjacent to the drop- 

off and pick-up area for passengers’ convenience. The lot built by the State Highway Administration

Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) Commuter Bus 

routes 203, 204 and 205 began service today along the 18.8 mile Inter County Connector (ICC) toll road. 

The three new commuter bus routes will provide service between I-270/370 in Montgomery County and 

I-95/Rt.1 in Prince George’s County. The first two weeks of service will be provided free of charge,

Montgomery County Implements Curb Markings to Save Lives

For the first time in Maryland,  Montgomery County and the Maryland Department of Transportation have installed curb markings along the Piney Branch corridor to prevent tragedies and indicate where it is and isn't safe for pedestrians to cross the street. As part of the Street Smart Campaign, Montgomery County Police will be stepping up their emphasis of traffic safety laws as well as issuing citations and warnings for failing to properly yield to pedestrians and drivers alike.
