U.S. First Robotics Competition in Baltimore, MD

The Patriots Robotic Team partnered with Forestville Military Academy this year to travel to the U.S. First Robotic Competition in Baltimore, MD.  For the past three months, the students had a chance to gain knowledge about the competition and had only six weeks to build a robot.  The competition was comprised of 66 teams; our team came in 44th place.  It was a great learning experience for our young rookie team.

The students had an opportunity to stop by the booth of one of our sponsors, Lockheed Martin, where they were able to test the Gear Up video software.  Reggie Smith, a Patriots board member from the team's sponsor Booz Allen Hamilton, got a chance to grease his hands and rolled up his sleeves as he watched the team in action.

A special thanks goes out to Mr. Paul Davenport from General Dynamics and Mr. Jonathan Wilkins for taking the lead in organizing the parents and volunteers together with the team.  Mr. Wendell Matthews from Forestville Military Academy was instrumental in hosting the team and recruiting students from his school.
