WASHINGTON (WUSA) -- DC drivers: we now have scientific proof that our traffic is in fact the worst in the nation.
The Texas Transportation Institute's annual report finds that drivers here waste 74 hours a year stuck in traffic - more than twice the national average.
What does that cost us? Thirty-seven gallons of gas and a cost of $1,495.
But on a positive note, the amount of time we waste in traffic is down by 10 hours since the new Wilson Bridge opened - when we spent 84 hours a year stuck in traffic.
