BETHESDA, Md. (WUSA9) -- The NIH Clinical Center discharged the patient exposed to Ebola, who was admitted to the hospital on December 11.

The patient was admitted to the hospital following a high-risk exposure to the virus while providing bedside nursing care in Sierra Leone, according to a NIH press release.

The patient has not shown any signs or evidence of the Ebola virus and will complete 21 days of monitoring at a private home in Virginia with the help of the Virginia Department of Health, according to the press release.

The patient is in good health and has no fever. The CDC guidelines will be followed until the 21-day observation is over.
