First Annual Water Safety Awareness Day

First Annual Water Safety Awareness Day

May is National Water Safety Month, and according to the American Academy of Pediatrics, drowning is the leading cause of death among children under the age of 5.

To prevent drowning and promote safe water practices, the British Swim School in Montgomery County will be hosting a free public event.

The First Annual Water Safety Awareness Day will take place on Sunday, May 20 at Healthtrax Fitness & Wellness Center in Germantown, Md.

The event is geared to provide preventive steps to drowning, and other safe water practices in addition to promoting healthy and active lifestyles.

The day will have activities for kids including fire trucks, police cars, bouncy houses, face paintings, a free swim, and more!
