Local Music Center sells $3 Million Tickets

Strathmore has reached a significant benchmark - for the first time in a single season the nonprofit arts presenter reached more than $3 million in ticket sales.

Strathmore’s 2010-2011 season includes 52 concerts in the Music Center with tickets made more accessible to patrons by instating a single-ticket sales model, rather than subscription-based. Through this, all seats in the Music Center are sold individually with no minimum ticket purchase required.

Strathmore also Received a $30,000 Grant from National Endowment For the Arts to support an illuminating series about iconic composer and Washington, D.C. native Duke Ellington in February 2012. National Endowment for the Arts is an independent agency of the federal government which supports artistic excellence, creativity, and innovation for the benefit of individuals and communities. This is the second grant that Strathmore has received from the NEA.

Strathmore is among 14 arts organizations in Maryland and more than 1,100 organizations nationwide to receive funding in the NEA’s most recent round of giving, which totals $88 million nationwide, of which $666,000 will be distributed in Maryland.
