Two Students Arrested on School Property

The Montgomery County Police 2nd District School Resource Officer has arrested two students for possessing a stun gun at Walt Whitman High School, located at 7100 Whittier Boulevard in Bethesda.

School security officials from Whitman High School notified the 2nd District School Resource Officer, who was at the school, of two students possibly being in possession of a stun gun; an electroshock weapon.

The preliminary investigation determined that a 14-year-old male student brought a stun gun to school and gave it to another 14-year-old male student.  School security officials and the 2nd District School Resource Officer located the two students and recovered the stun gun.

The students were placed under arrest and taken to the 2nd District station where they were charged, as juveniles, with possession of a dangerous weapon on school grounds.  They were then released to the custody of their parents.

During the course of this incident, neither school officials nor officers from the Montgomery County Police received any reports of injuries from other Whitman students or faculty members.
