Save the Capital Crescent Trail Race

This Sunday September 12, over 2,500 runners will participate in the park’s Half Marathon through Rock Creek Park and on the Capital Crescent Trail before finishing in downtown Bethesda.

The race organizers are strong supporters of maintaining the trail as it exists today, and are providing information to all of the runners in Sunday’s race about efforts to preserve and protect the Capital Crescent Trail from destruction by the Purple Line.

After the race on Monday September 13, representatives of the Maryland Transportation Administration will be the guests at a public meeting to discuss the latest plans for the trail with the Purple Line. The meeting will be hosted by the Board of the Coalition for the Capital Crescent Trail and starts at 7 p.m. at the Bethesda Library, 7400 Arlington Road in Bethesda.
