BETHESDA, Md. (Nov. 4, 2010) – The Bethesda Country Day School is proud to announce that principal Judy McClimans has been named Preschool Principal of the Year by its parent organization, Nobel Learning Communities, Inc. McClimans received the honor at Nobel Learning Communities’ annual principal conference, which was recently held in Las Vegas.

“Judy is a wonderful principal and entirely deserving of this award,” said Kristen Mirsky, parent of a student at Bethesda Country Day School. “Her passion for both her students and teachers is evidenced by her enthusiasm and commitment to making this preschool a top-notch learning facility. She understands the difference that going above-and-beyond can make, especially for parents. We are lucky to have her.”

The Preschool Principal of the Year award is presented each year to a principal who stands out among Nobel Learning Communities’ preschools across the country for inspiring and motivating both students and staff. This is McClimans second time winning the Preschool Principal of the Year award.

“I was very surprised and honored to receive the Preschool Principal of the Year Award,” said McClimans. “This award reflects the hard work, dedication and never ending energy of my assistant principals and all the outstanding teachers and staff at the Bethesda Country Day School. Our families and children are the heart of this school, and their belief and overwhelming support is what makes us the preschool we are today—full of happy and loving children.”

“Judy’s passion to mold young people and prepare them for elementary education is apparent with every step she takes at the school,” said Donna Harper, executive director for Bethesda Country Day School. “She has created an environment that allows children to grow and develop successfully. Judy constantly challenges her team and asks ‘how can we do better?’  It’s no surprise to me that Judy was named Preschool Principal of the Year for the second time.”

A resident of Fairfax, Va., McClimans holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. She has been with Bethesda Country Day School for nearly 6 years and an educator for 10 years.
