2010 NEA National Heritage Fellows Perform at the Music Center at Strathmore

On Friday, September 24, at 8:00 p.m., the 2010 NEA National Heritage Fellows will perform at a free special concert, held at the Music Center at Strathmore, located at 5301 Tuckerman Lane in Bethesda, Maryland.

Afro-Cuban drumming, classical Indian dancing, and Bluegrass music are just a few of the folk and traditional arts that will take center stage at this concert, which features lively music and dance performances alongside demonstrations of centuries’ old crafts, and engaging interviews with the artists. Nick Spitzer, host of public radio’s American Routes, will emcee the concert.

The concert will also be available through a live webcast at arts.gov. To access the webcast, visit arts.gov the afternoon of September 24 for instructions. An archive of the concert will be available following the event.
