Portrait Photography
My goal is for your portrait session to be fun and relaxed.  My shoots are set up to let you play, have fun, laugh, and love each other. I want to let everyone be himself or herself so I can record the uniqueness of your children and family.

Sessions generally take place early or late in the day.  The best light for capturing flattering images is typically an hour or two after sunrise or in the last hours of the day before sunset. Small children are also generally at their best first thing in the morning. I’m also very flexible and can fit the sessions to your families needs.

What to Expect:

If we are photographing more that one person we will include a few posed shots, but mostly I will take candid pictures of your family interacting or your child playing.  Do consider planning an activity for all or part of our time together. If you enjoy decorating cupcakes, picnics, playing games like croquet or bocce ball, flying kites or riding bikes I’m sure we will capture memorable images.

The best shots tend to happen when your child is playing or just acting naturally, so the more normal your activities the better.  Sometimes it is actually easier to get kids to act naturally, and smile when they are choosing to rather than mom or dad asking them to.

Working at your home: I will ask you to show me around.  This way I can walk around to check out the light in different rooms and also get to know you a little more.  I might ask to rearrange some furniture or other items to utilize the best light that I find.  We can incorporate many of the things that are important and meaningful to you.

Working on location: We can choose a location that is significant to you and your family. This is a fun experience because I get to capture you and your loved ones doing some of your favorite activities in a place that is fun and meaningful to you. I can also suggest wonderful locations in and around DC.

Architectural Photography
Through my architectural photography I capture the creative design and vision of the designer and the ambiance of the space. I work with my clients to accurately interpret the design intent and to document this achievement. My goal is to provide you with the finest quality images of your project and strive for a customer friendly and hassle free experience. My goal is to produce images that produce a visually exciting photograph and have a lasting usefulness. I believe this is best achieved by communication and cooperation between the photographer and the client in discussing the client's thoughts, design concepts and project publications goals.

I'm committed  to producing quality images through lighting, angle and cropping from construction progress assingments to project phase images and detailed views.
