Christ Lutheran Church About Us
Christ Lutheran Church was launched in a Bethesda theater in 1934, and the current building was completed in 1956. Over the years, the church has become a regular meeting place for several other church congregations, numerous 12-Step groups, community organizations, and multi-faith, multi-cultural social events. By offering the use of its facilities to a range of organizations, Christ Lutheran has gained many more avenues of outreach to the community. The church's most recent pastor retired on December 31, 2010, after almost 28 years serving the church. The interim pastor, Pastor Jon Hundt, is successfully leading the church through this important phase of transition, as the church seeks out its next permanent pastor. The days and years ahead are exciting for the people and ministries of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, as well as the surrounding community of Bethesda and the greater Montgomery County!

Additional Information
We always welcome new visitors at any of our church services, small groups, events, or activities. As you arrive on Sunday, please feel free to park in any of the parking spaces in our parking lot, located behind the church. There are several parking spaces marked for staff and handicapped visitors, which are clearly marked by signs in front of the spaces. If our lot is full, there is a public parking garage two blocks over on Auburn Avenue, that is free on Sundays. During the week, you will need to park in parking spaces designated for visitors, as the majority of spaces are rented out on weekdays.
Also, as you arrive, you will find a welcome center in the narthex in the back of the sanctuary. We would also like to get to know you, so you can sign the visitor cards that are inserted into our Sunday bulletins.
